APPEARANCE

Sanya is noticeable, and her condition is to blame. An albino with short white hair and a reddish shade to her eyes, she immediately stands out from the crowd.

Despite the slightly tired look her eyebags give her, Sanya is cute and expressive. She has a slightly thicker than average build that is naturally strong, similar to her brother.

She normally wears glasses, but switches to contacts when going out to look less nerdy. Outside, Sanya is typically seen wearing sports clothes and a ponytail. The girl doesn't have much of a fashion sense.

PERSONALITY

Sanya is a very earnest person. She is brave, empathetic and caring, and will always stick up for the weak. She fights for what she believes, even if that means breaking some rules and noses.

Despite what one may gather from her rebellious demeanour, Sanya is quite intelligent. She is able to keep her composure and think rationally in high-stress situations – a lifetime inside a business with high mortality rates is to thank for that. That, however, doesn’t translate to composure in social situations.

While not completely socially inept, Sanya is rather awkward around people her age, having spent most of her life surrounded by adults. Her knowledge of real life largely comes from media, which also does her little favours in that regard. She can be naive, and is terrible at hiding her emotions – her face is an open book.

With all that said, Sanya has a cold side to her. That fighting spirit only concerns those that she can reach. If a person disappears from her life, no matter how close, she spends little to no emotion on mourning or reminiscing about them.

Sanya can prioritise some human lives over others with relative ease. She can act upon those priorities, covering up her selfish behaviour with idealism she herself doesn’t fully stand by. Though she does have some sense of guilt over it, she doesn’t know how to keep living otherwise.

BACKGROUND

Sasha’s birth marked the death of her sickly mother. Being the daughter of a stalker, the girl was born with albinism – a slight deviation, but a deviation nonetheless. Since society isn’t too kind to people with any sort of mutation, her remaining family made the choice to keep her homeschooled, at least until she grew older. On top of that, Sasha’s sensitivity to sunlight limited her contact with the outside world.

She grew up surrounded by adults, namely, stalkers. People came and went, that was the nature of the job. So when her father didn’t come back home, Sasha was only a little confused. Her brother said there was no point in crying and she almost didn’t. The remaining Kazarins would have to go to an orphanage, which seemed to bother Sergei more than the actual death of their father.

That was where Nikita and Kolya stepped in. The two colleagues of their late parent had known Sergei and Sasha since they were very young. Aware of the poor state of local orphanages and the high likelihood of Sasha getting bullied for her condition, they did not report Victor Kazarin’s death until Sergei would turn 18 and be able to become her legal guardian. The brothers helped the children pay the bills, provided financial aid, and visited them whenever they could.

After the grinder incident Sasha’s relationship with Sergei became more strained. They spent more time together, Sasha was growing older, and she wanted to engage with society beyond Sergei’s and Nikita’s apartments. Though, physically speaking, she did venture beyond those two locations: they had nature outings, trips to cafes and stores; and from age 13 she was taken to the local quarry for yearly shooting practice.

Sergei, Nikita, and Olga did teach Sasha a lot of survival skills. You never know when you can get stormed by a rival stalker gang, have to go on the run or need to get a wound sewn up. So she was taught how to shoot, fight, drive, and provide first aid – just in case.

When it came to academics, Sasha managed to cover the school’s program fine to a certain point. But as she started nearing high school, Sergei’s own knowledge and teaching chops weren’t enough to educate her in subjects she wasn’t predisposed to.

Yura and Nikita's confrontation. Page from Execution

Enter Yura. The first person her own age since early childhood, an extrovert that seemed to embody everything Sasha could only dream of having, Yura gradually drew the girl out of her shell. She looked up to him and waved aside some of his more questionable traits, for he was a polar opposite of all her overly protective brother stood for, and that alone was deserving of admiration.

Not long after their first secret outing together, Sanya got to meet Yura’s friends. Tsar happened to separate from the rest and got in trouble with Manhattan thugs – Sanya stood up for him, earning the respect of the group. Yura hyped her up a bit more, and soon she became part of the gang.

Today Sanya is often seen together with the group (now bearing the name Dynamo) or alone with Yura. Sergei dislikes how out of hand she got. He is especially displeased with her choice of friends, which is cause for frequent conflict.

RELATIONSHIPS

Sanya

Yura

Yura and Sanya are good friends. To Sanya he embodies freedom, and she admires him for that. Yura enjoys teasing her, which is very rewarding with how easily flustered she gets.

Katya

Katya

Both girls grew up in restrictive homes, and both broke the rules to see the world. Katya is inspired by Sanya, and Sanya can't help but feel protective of her.

Sergei

Sergei

Sanya finds Sergei overbearing, which is the cause for many of their conflicts. After Sergei's betrayal, their relationship became more distant than ever.

Nikita

Nikita

A sort of uncle figure, Nikita saw Sanya grow up. He was the one she ran complaining to whenever she had a fight with Sergei.

Olya

Olya

Despite knowing each other for years, the younger girl is still afraid that Olya finds her lame as hell. Olya actually likes her a lot.

Kolya

Kolya

Sanya remembers him well - he is the man behind most of her childhood photos. She wasn't as close to Kolya as she was to Nikita, but always found him interesting.

Tsar

Tsar

Tsar thought Sanya was super cool ever since she helped him fight off the thugs. In return, Sanya is probably his group's biggest fan.

Yana

Yana

Yana dotes on Sanya in a manner that can come across as condescending, but is ultimately well-meaning. Sanya misjudged Yana at first, but now feels very comfortable around her.

Ivan

Ivan

Sanya and Ivan respect each other. Ivan recognises the girl's ability to keep cool or fight when the situation calls for it, and Sanya knows she can always rely on the big guy.

Arthur

Arthur

Sanya doesn't know how to talk to Arthur. She suspects he hates her. He doesn't. He just thinks she's out of her depth.
