Yura has a pleasant, but unremarkable appearance. Intentionally messy hair, bushy eyebrows and a flat charming smile are his main attributes.
Yura is rather lean. Thanks to Sergei's regular training, he is in decent shape (though, nowhere near buff).
His wardrobe is very limited and basic, which isn't a huge problem since he doesn't care much about fashion anyways. He is almost always seen smoking.
Yura is easy-going and laid-back. He effortlessly starts up conversations and has a good sense of humour, which makes him rather charismatic. He's not exactly clownish, either. While he isn't afraid of making a fool of both himself and others, his standard manner of communication is chill and even a little detached.
Yura is also clever. He doesn't do too well at school (Maths aside) due to a lack of motivation, but he is good at quickly grasping and analysing situations.
That said, there is a reason for why a lot of people dislike him.
Yura is impulsive. He is quick to come to conclusions and act upon those conclusions. He can be very insensitive, irresponsible, deceitful and plain annoying. He will also never miss a chance to tease somebody for a laugh. Furthermore, Yura is no stranger to using underhanded tactics to get what he wants. He's not above playing dirty, blackmailing, and working behind someone's back.
Yura is deeply dissatisfied with his life circumstances. He feels like no matter how hard he tries, he will not achieve happiness. Even if he manages to get into a decent university, his family wouldn’t be able to pay tuition; if he looks for a job without a diploma, he’d be competing with thousands of others left unemployed in a time of crisis. Feeling out of options, he chooses to indulge in partying.
No matter how dismal it gets, he believes nobody wants or needs to know about it. Because it could always be worse; because he's not a little bitch.
Yura learned he was supposed to be ashamed of his mother since early childhood. Having faced a lot of bullying and tasteless jokes, he learned to combat it with humour and strategic self-deprecation. By middle school, he developed a detached attitude to both himself and others. Though Yura wasn't persecuted anymore and was even liked by some, his classmates always kept their distance due to the rumours associated with him. Not that Yura himself wanted to engage with them.
After getting into high school, Yura started looking for ways to make money. He quickly found out that legal options were a no-go - there were no jobs for adults far more qualified than him, taking a random kid on board would be akin to charity. So Yura managed to land a couple of jobs on the other side of the law: acting as a courier, keeping watch, hiding ziplock bags in designated spots - very occasional menial tasks.
In the 9th grade he came across Arthur. He'd seen the boy before, what with the two coming from the same school. However, it was the first time they spoke. A misunderstanding led to a fight, led to running away from the police, led to a friendship. Eventually Yura got acquainted with Tsar, and, when he got out of juvie, Ivan. Not long after, Yana joined their company, too.

Yura started going to parties and gradually drifting away from his own gang associations. This came to bite him in the ass. Manhattan found out he'd been two-timing them doing errands for an opposing party, so they generously gave him a choice between financial compensation and ten broken fingers. He chose to pay. The problem was, he did not have the money for it. And finding a job was more of an issue than ever. With deadlines ticking closer, Yura began to get desperate.
A glimmer of hope came in the form of a substitute teacher. Yura knew the feeling he got around Nikita Danilovich: it was the same sense of dread and nausea that overcame him whenever he crossed an anomaly. While weak around the man, it was undeniable - the school had an unregistered mutant working as part of the staff. Outrageous.
So Yura decided to initiate negotiations with Nikita. To the boy's dismay, Nikita wouldn't be able to pay the sum he asked for, not with a teacher's salary. But what he could do was set Yura up with somebody who might be interested in hiring him for a potentially high-paying job.

This is how Yura met Sergei and Sanya. Reluctant at first, Sergei agreed to take him in after learning he'd managed to detect the miniscule anomaly that got imprinted on Nikita's glasses. On top of that, Yura landed a side gig as Sanya's Maths tutor as per Nikita's recommendation. With the two newly acquired jobs, Yura would be able to pay Manhattan back, albeit at a slower rate.
As Sanya started going out and became part of the friend group (now labelled Dynamo), tensions with Manhattan rose. They decided to let Yura's debt go in exchange for information on whether their newly formed gang, namely Ivan, would be present in certain locations on any given day.
As of today, run-ins still occur, and consistently end in Manhattan getting their shit kicked in. Yura tries to avoid active confrontation with their gang members for the sake of maintaining their leader's favour, but enjoys the opportunity to join his friends in a tussle when it's unavoidable.
Currently Yura works purely to help his mother pay off her debt and to afford a consistent supply of cigs.
Yura and Sanya are good friends. To Sanya he embodies freedom, and she admires him for that. Yura enjoys teasing her, which is very rewarding with how easily flustered she gets.
The only person he has ever opened up to. Yura cares about Katya like one would for a younger sister and is dead set on freeing her.
Yura irritates Sergei a great deal, but he puts up with it because of the boy's proficiency in detecting anomalies. Really dislikes how he has been influencing Sanya.
It's rare for Yura and Anya to have a conversation that doesn't devolve into hurling insults at each other. He doesn't hate his sister, but she would claim otherwise.
They don't talk much. The fact that Yura reminds Lilya of his father more with each passing day eats at him.
Despite a rocky start to their relationship, the two have a fondness for each other. Yura respects Nikita, while Nikita finds the kid entertaining.
Yura and Olya rarely get a chance to interact outside of an occasional lift home. They are somewhat intrigued by each other, but striking up personal conversations would be weird.
